In 1994 a few fun bowlers (William & Barbara Farr, Charles & Susan Eplin. Brett Moyer, Anja Mallock, Floyd Forbes & Heike Hasenau and Mitch Scissom) got together and wanted to start a league. A mixture of Americans and Germans. So they decided to call the league. German and American Bowling League. In the meeting Barbara wanted to put an ad in the newspaper to get the information out. 1 month later was the officall start. William Farr was voted in as President and Charles Eplin as secratary. The League formed six teams, Oldies,Strike Force,Odd Couples, Fireballs, Thunderballs and Muff Divers. On the start the teams had to have 1 American and at least 1 female. Later on we got away from that, to draw interest. It was a sucessful year for the Oldies as they won the first championship in our league histroy. In the next season the teams doubled and by the third year the league had 14 teams. From 1995-2006 the league was going strong never falling under 12 teams in a season. In 2007 alot of jobs were being lost and people started losing their jobs.Times were getting rough, but the league still held on and never fell below 8 teams. In 2010 the bowling ally at Herkules was closing. But the bowlers of German and American League wanting to continue, with luck a the IX Bowling center was about to open. So the German and American Bowling League moved to Petersburg. The move was good as the PinBusters were the first champions of IX Bowling center. Doing the years many stats were kept, games bowled, pinfall, team stats ,ind stats and many more You will find most of the stats if not all the stats you desire, right here in this record book. In the early years every bowler received a trophie, until last year, where we had to change it, due to the increasing prices of the bowlling ally. Instead of raising the price for the league, we decided on 1 trophie per team. But in the other areas stayed the same. High game and high series scratch and handicap, team, male and female awards. Also the top avg. of the season. This record book is dedicated to our missing fellow bowlers and friends. William Farr, Mitch Scissom, David Ferniand and Nat Gross.
